This is what I am working on now, a RidingHood sweater pattern from Sugarbubbie. It is such a fun knit, I am considering becoming licensed for it because I love it so much! I am making Elliana's out of Cascade handpainted superwash. I just have the hood and sleeves to finish up.

I love how this turned out, such an easy knit and it worked perfectly as an outfit. The bloomers were great because its already pretty chilly here in Anchorage, about 40 degrees.

Finally getting back to my blog after many months away. So much has happened and changed I couldnt even begin to list it all. It's hard to believe Elliana is going to be 1 in just 6 days, she has gotten so big since her last picture on here - this is her birthday outfit I made - an Oriental Lily dress with SMSS convertible bloomers (they dont have the leggings attached to them in the picture).

And then I made her a Spring Butterfly with SMSS Convertible Bloomers this last week, again without the leggings pictured. What a ham! She loves the camera, she can be throwing and all out tantrum and you say "Elliana, say Cheese" and she'll stop and grin as hard as she can.

Slowly jumping back into knitting, mostly just for her right now but am hoping to get back to doing some YYMN work.

Her new hat I made New Year's Eve. I think she likes it lol! It's on gorgeous BFL in the Alice colorway dyed by Laines Magnifiques - I am hoping to have enough to make the longies to match it. She dyes such beautiful yarns, I could spend a life's savings to buy enough to roll in!

The weather here has been just awful with severe cold -20 to -30 for three weeks now. The hat pattern originally called for it all to be knit in that open weave but I alternated with stockinette to keep more heat in. To me it looks like a little birthday cake perched on her head.

WELL...After 3 months of maternity leave I am back at work again. Elliana was born September 24th, 2008 at 7lbs 15oz and 19.75 inches long. She's now 24.5 inches tall and just under 10lbs.

We finally had the third baby shower here at work so I was able to photograph all three sets together and put up a picture without one of them being able to see them before the other one got theirs. These are the ones for all of us here at work who are due within 3 weeks of each other, all of us with girls - a set for Kennedy, Elliana, and Marie (or Natalie - she hasn't decided yet) . Candice's is the one on the far left with the pink trim and shirt, mine is in the middle with the brown shirt and trim, and Somphane's is the one on the far right with the brown trim and pink shirt.

Just finished them up last night and all I have left to do is weave in the ends inside and put some little bobbles on the end of the drawstring so her little one doesn't pull it out. Then get them lanolized and ready to mail!

Boy, these 18 month size really teach patience lol! I kept asking myself why I wasn't finished yet, that was my third pair in that size back to back and I have one more to do as soon as the yarn arrives. I need to make some teeny ones for Elliana before Cheryl's pumpkin yarn gets here or my little bean will be running around nekkid while the other kids have woolies!!

I am still waiting on pictures from two other mamas of their littles ones in their longies, and I can't wait to see them! It is such a neat feeling to see them ON the little one versus just laying there, action shots are the best!

Okay, I guess you must feel it more when you are older and pregnant lol. When I had the others I don't remember being this darn worn out all the time. I have been up less than 4 hours and I could fall asleep if I blinked too long. Been having the worst time sleeping too. Good news I guess is that we are in the home stretch. Dr. says that I will definitely be induced on the 25th if nothing happens before then, which is only 21 more days.

Right now I am working on a pair of size small longies for the new congo store The Serenity Tree which will be opening next month. It is going to be such an awesome store, so many talented WAHM's I will be working with!

I just bought some new trim yarn to re-do the Bare Sheep Yarn longies for Meagan so I will be starting those again as soon as I get the thumbs up from her! I like this match much better than the first trim I tried, it was much too blue of a purple, this one is a dead on orchid-purple like the yarn itself.

Well little Connor's preemie britches are finished, working on the i-cord now. Should have the little matching hat finished for him and the whole package in the mail for his mommy tomorrow. He's such a tough little guy, born in June at only 1lb 6oz he is finally getting ready to be coming home!!

Am still having issues with being really run down and tired but I guess I should remember this is how it gets towards the end. I just have to remember Elliana will be here soon and then I will REALLY be tired LOL!!

I have had a migraine all morning, throwing up and dizzy and there is no one here to cover my desk at work. As you can see - I can still type by touch even if I can't focus I guess. And of course my tummy is tender from being sick, baby is just kicking the heck out of me and having braxton hicks contractions more frequently is just compounding everything. I am so ready to just walk out the door and find the nearest dark quiet place and pass out.

But I can't - tonight is my oldest's graduation from her CMA college course. And today was the first day of kindergarten for Natty so I have to make a special dinner too.

I guess my day is just not going to end peacefully with me crawling into bed, covers over my head and everyone fending for themself.

I finished these just after I got home from our long road trip to Mentasta. They are so pretty, this picture doesn't do justice to that colorway at all. The only difficulty I had was that it really wanted to pool like crazy once I got to the legs so I had to knit from both skeins at once.

Now I am working on the little preemie set for a little guy who was born at 26 weeks back in June and is finally almost ready to come home.

Here is one of the three matching sets I made for us ladies here at work all having girls. This set is for Somphane, she is due four days after I am, on October 3. Her baby shower is tomorrow. I was going to make us all longie and hat sets but after the longies I didnt have enough leftover except for one hat so I dyed matching shirts and socks instead. Candice's set will be made with the pink as the icord and ruffles instead of the brown, so they will all be the same but different too. My set I am keeping the one hat with and has the brown trim with little dots of pink in it.

I am working on two customs right now, the gorgeous Guinevere pants as seen below, and a set for a little preemie man who finally gets to come home!!

I feel like Garfield the cat and his nap attacks! I am just exhausted the last couple days. I havent been sleeping real well at night either so that leaves me just dragging through the day. I dont know if its just baby or if I have a bug of some sort. I should just go to sleep when I get home but I dont, I sit and knit or make dinner or whatever I feel I need to be doing other than sleeping. Today is such a beautiful day I feel like just curling up into the sunshine and sleeping like my kittycat does.

The yarn was waiting for me when I got home from work last night. It is so gorgeous, I couldnt wait to start playing with it. I wound one skein so I could start knitting it up immediately and it is even prettier knitted than in the skein. I should have jumped on this yarn for myself when I saw some on sale 2 weeks ago on FSOT! Even with all the blue I think my little girl could pull it off!

This beautiful and durable Targhee will become a pair of 18 month size longies for a little boy in Missippi.

Mosaic Moon is definitely on my list of To-Do's for myself sometime!

I finished two pair of the newborn longies in the Parasio purewool and one hat. I am working the third pair now and realize I wont be able to make the matching hat for the other two sets so I have settled on the longies with a matching dyed baby shirt for the two baby shower gifts and then I will just keep the one hat with the pair that I make for our baby. I am ready to be done with this yarn though lol - I am tired of looking at it by now.

I am just plain tired. Went to the doctor this morning and she says they will be wanting to induce around the 24-26 of September because she will be out of the office the following week. That's disappointing because JR really wanted to try and see if we could go without being induced so that I wouldnt be confined to bed. I have been having the most awful time sleeping lately, this morning it was after 3 a.m. before I fell asleep and then had to be up at 6. I am just dragging now.

I am starting on a pair of longies and a hat for Candice's new little nephew born last month. Not so little, he's over 10 lbs at less than a month old so I am making the 3-6 month size for him. Its in 3 ply purewool, the Palace colorway with black trim.

And I have a custom coming in for an 18 month old in Mosiac Moon's Guinevere colorway that should be here this week. That will be fun to knit up, I love that colorway.

Tired is just not even the word. I am flat out exhausted today. Not that I have run a marathon or scaled Mt. McKinley, in fact pretty much done exactly what I do everyday but today I just feel like I don't even have the energy to blink. If I could get a nap, I would probably not even wake up til tomorrow.

I have started on the first of a triple matching set of new born longies and hats on Parasio 3ply purewool. I need to have the first set finished by next Friday. I would like to have them all done before then but we shall see. Here is a progress picture, all that's left to do is the second leg.

The three sets are for me and two co-workers. We are all three due within 3 weeks of each other and all with girls so I thought this would be really cute to have matching outfits for them to get their pictures done in.

Finished these up yesterday for a really nice mama in Canada, can't wait to hear what she thinks of them!! It was my first time working with Cestari Fine merino - what a dense yarn!! These longies are so thick and heavy, will definitely keep that little one warm all winter long! I was so surprised at how thick it was while I was knitting, the salmon color is Cascade that I had to double strand to make work up the same thickness.

This weekend kicked my butt, I feel like I never slept! I am working on three matching longies and hat sets for us here at work, since all of our babies will be born within 3 weeks of each other and they are all girls I decided to use my Parasio purewool and make identical sets so that we can take pictures of all the girls together.

They have such gorgeous scrumptious yarn, I was so tempted to keep this one for myself when I got it in the mail on Friday.

It's going to be so much fun! They are for an 11 month old girl and I am going to add some stripes in the legs and large ruffles on the bottom. This will be such a fun pair and they will be sent to Canada so I know they will be put to lots of use this fall and winter!

Just have about an inch or so to knit before doing the ribbing at the top and the drawstring. Been playing around with the idea of maybe figuring out little shoulder straps too but I am leaning toward just making it the slip on sack type. I really like how this turned out. The colorway is called Earth Tones, but to me its not earthy at all, its more of muted pastels. I mixed it with a Khaki purewool trim and I like it. Plus, I forgot to switch from my size 4's to 6's after the ribbing so it is a really dense knit throughout the body and it is so soft! I put the Malabrigo one I made last month up for sale in the store and decided on keeping this one instead!

I made them a size small so they will have a little time to be worn before I pass them on. Yesterday and today have been just beautiful outside, I sure hope it lasts for the weekend so that I can enjoy it some!

I'm starting a pair of newborn size longies in single ply purewool, Poison colorway, I really prefer using the single ply primarily for newborns since it does pill easier than 3 ply does and since the littlest ones arent mobile yet, its perfect. But the squishy softness is so nice and I can just imagine it directly against the skin -mmm.. makes me want some of my own! This pair will probably be for the baby, but maybe for the store depending on how I like the colorway when it knits up more.

I have about 20 skeins of yarn coming in next week between the purewool co-op, bbr, knitpicks and various ones I picked up on FSOT... I am going to be so grounded from buying yarn again until I get some things done!!!

I'm so darn happy I could do the hokey-pokey! Still feeling tired but just looking outside and seeing the brightness makes me feel a little better. Started working on the Mint Latte longies last night, kinda slow going but with me having to wait til after I get home and get dinner done and the kids settled - I guess any at all is progress.

All I really want to do is sleep but that's not an option at all. I can get up in the morning and feel dead on my feet 10 minutes later. Probably just this stage of the pregnancy, I'm not used to working through the whole time.

Fall will be upon us in a matter of weeks, seems more like days but hopefully we can squeeze in a couple other days of sunlight before it all disappears.

Blue Moon Longies

Finished these up last night. I love the vibrancy of the colors in this wool! I ended up with an extra inch plus of inseam just because I didnt want to throw off the striping pattern I had started. Hopefully some mama will have a little long-legged kiddo or just wear em cuffed for a bit and get some extra wear out of them.

Am starting a pair hopefully for Elliana this time, a really super soft BFL in Mint Latte with Cocoa for the trim. Not girly at all but I love it. I have been knitting for others more recently so I am looking forward to making something to keep.

I have a 7 or so skeins of purewool coming from a co-op, 2 skeins of BBR custom dyed by Kimi of A Twisted Stitch, and I ordered 6 skeins of Bare from Knitpicks along with their starter kit of Jacquard Dyes so I should be playing for awhile when they come in.

I decided on these. I am loving how this yarn is turning out! It is striping so beautifully, no pooling at all yet. This picture isnt showing how bright these blues and yellow are - light blue, bright blue, royal blue and a gorgeous almost chartreuse yellow! This mama did a great job dyeing this wool!
I can't wait to get these up on etsy for some lucky little one!

Finished it last night, I just did a crocheted drawstring rather than icord simply because I was so tired I just wanted to be done! I may change my mind last and knit one up but for now it works. I think the colorway turned out better than I was thinking it would. I may even have enough left for some booties if I try. I am trying to decide on what to do next....another pair of longies for my store or a pair for baby. And which wool to use... Decisions decisons! Here are my two choices to play with -

Mint Latte with Cocoa trim? Or some hand-dyes Paton's with matching Royal blue trim?

Suggestions anyone???

This crappy weather just makes me feel so run down. That and the discomforts of pregnancy make a woman pretty grumpy! I'm working on a little sleepsack for the baby right now, in Malabrigo's single ply "Little Lovely". I think I actually like the yarn in the skein better than I like it as I'm knitting it, but I will probably change my mind. It sure is soft though.

I just have so much that I want to get done and by the time I get home from work all I want to do is just sleep. Dont want to make dinner, dont want to do dishes, dont want to do laundry - just sleep. Or knit for a bit and fall asleep with needles in hand.

I feel like I have been working on the purewool ones forever even though its only been three or four days. I think its just because I have only been able to do a little bit here and there because I have been so run down tired the last week. I have one leg left to do and then decide if I want to make a pocket out of the khaki color for the side like little cargo pants, and then do the i-cord. These turned out so soft I just love squishing them and showing them to my co-workers and hearing them say "theres no way this is wool!".

I am looking forward to the weekend, the time off of work to rest and hopefully get some more knitting done. Maybe in girly colors this time....maybe even for my own baby LOL!

You just gotta love em! They are so cute and totally addicting! I have 4 so far and am sending more wool anytime I get my hands on it. I originally bought one with the intention it would be for Elliana when she got old enough to start grasping toys but everyone has fallen for them. My son Nathaniel (in the picture) is always hiding them from me so he can keep them for himself. And even my oldest daughter who is 20 wants one for herself. If you get a moment, stop by Megan's shop and look around - she offers them in almost any color range and you can also send her your favorite yarn! I like them best in wool, because as they felt up they will last longer and longer!

Another pregnant day....

The weather here has been just so miserable this summer...we only got into 70's one time and it has been overcast and dreary now for weeks. That and being cooped up in the office all day just makes for lazy do-nothing nights. I guess the plus to that is my knitting getting finished lol! Baby is sure moving around and letting me know when she is trying to get comfortable, I'm hoping for another sonogram in 2 weeks or so just to take another peek at her.

Still working on the Pacifico longies, fell asleep early last night so I didnt even get the gusset and legs started. I did however, sell my beloved Chipmunk Hollow set to a very nice mama on DiaperSwappers and cannot wait to see pictures of her little man in them!

Just playing with some of the purewool that I got from a friend on DiaperSwappers, 3 ply Khaki and single ply Pacifico. I decided to make a pair of small size longies since its single ply. It'll be super soft and since the baby wont be moving around so much (crawling, etc..) it wont pill too badly. I have some Copacabana and Gentleman single ply and then some Calisto 3 ply to play with also, I just need to decide on what type of trim I want with them. AND then...my purewool co-op order should be here, along with at least three other skeins of some various yummies! I am going to be so excited not knowing what to do first!

Chipmunk Hollow!!!

Just finished yesterday - size 12 mos/medium longies and hat set. This wool is so gorgeous! BFL Aran dyed by Family Pendragon in their Chipmunk Hollow colorway. I almost wanted to keep this for Elliana but decided a little boy would look just scrumptious in it. I hope whoever buys it will send me pictures!!!!

I love Family Pendragon...I got some Chipmunk Hollow in BFL yesterday in the mail that I bought on FSOT at DiaperSwappers. I had to put down the Praia purewool skirty I was working on and started making some longies out of it! The colors are so rich - deep dark chocolate, milk chocolate, mint green, cornflower blue and a little streak of honey here and there. I decided I wanted to make some 12 mo size longies and put them up for sale when I am finished.

My husband even fell for the colorway, he keeps asking if we can just keep them for Elliana to wear next fall lol.

Ecstatic over Skirties!!

I finally tried my hand at making a skirty this weekend. I love how it turned out! It is the most scrumptious colorway - Pumpkin Pie by Doodlebird Creations. This is my favorite colorway to date and I am tempted to buy even more so that I can make more things in bigger sizes just to keep it around!

The pattern for the skirty is the Darling Skirty by Teresa at In Stitches. This is her tester pattern and is not finalized for sale at this time. The little britches underneath are a modified version of Melanie's Adorabubble Baby Britches pattern.

It knit up super easy, took maybe 6 hours of total knitting time (not counting interruptions, putting down and picking up again) and working out how to attach the britches underneath.

I am going to be knitting skirties up the wazoo - such fun and now I want to make all my own little modifications and see what else I can do with it!!

Finished the first leg and now I am beginning the second, didn't get much knitting done last night except for finishing the i-cord. Hopefully I will get them done tonight and try the new cuff ruffle that I want to do!

Lazy Day

Boy am I feeling pregnant today. Its gorgeous out and I am stuck at my desk getting sleepier by the moment. Elliana is kicking up a storm but its so hot and quiet in here I really want a nap!

I got to go to the Knitting Grounds this weekend and pick out some trim for some Praia purewool and Hagrid BFL which led me to have to wipe drool from my chin as I wandered around the store.

Worked on a pair of newborn longies this weekend, on the BFL in Hagrid colorway - that yarn is to die for! I got to the bottom of the second leg and decided I didnt like the modifications I made and frogged it back to beginning the gusset and started re-working the legs.

I also finally figured out the i-cord last night, I was so happy! Now I can actually offer an I-cord drawstring instead of just crochet.

I still had some of that yummy purewool left and was figuring out what to do with it and decided on a hat. Then I wanted it make the brim to match the trim on the longies. I think it turned out pretty good. I still have even more left over and I would like to make a little shawl-like poncho if I can find a good pattern.

Working on a hat to match the ruffle longies that I made for Elliana out of purewool. Custom colorway is Rebirth by Gina. I decided to try opening a few YYMN slots on DiaperSwappers, we will see how that goes. Long day at work today, baby has been kicking up a storm with all the racket the mover's made today. Can't wait to go home and put my feet up, relax and knit.
